School History

Jefferson County High School was created when Louisville High School and Wrens High School merged.  JCHS is located approximately halfway between Wrens and Louisville, Georgia on Highway 1 and has an approximate enrollment of 850 students. It is the mission of Jefferson County High School to partner with the community in creating a learning culture that challenges, supports, and ensures the success of every child, every day. The motto “JCHS is a fountain of knowledge – don’t leave thirsty” was established by a group of students during the fall of 2001.  In 2006 the Jefferson County Board of Education adopted a county wide mission statement – “Jefferson County Schools – Six Schools, One Mission – Every Child, Every Day”.  The faculty and staff at JCHS believes in the 3 Rs – relationships, rigor and relevance which are supported by research-based best instructional practices.
